Palo Alto, Calif.-based Stanford Hospitals and Clinics and Anthem Blue Cross of California were unable to agree to a new contract, forcing the academic medical center out of the health insurer's network as of Sept. 1, according to a Palo Alto Weekly report.
The two groups are continuing negations and are nearing an agreement, according to the report.
In the interim, a spokesperson for the health system said in the report Anthem members could face higher co-payments and deductibles and may need to find alternate healthcare providers.
