Sharon (Pa.) Regional Health System, a one-hospital system with 22 satellite centers, has announced plans to cut the equivalent of 87 full-time jobs, according to a WFMJ report.
The layoffs will affect administrative, technical and clerical workers but will also have some impact on clinical positions, according to the report. The system boasts more than 1,750 employees.
A combination of factors contributed to the layoffs decision, including declining reimbursements and a decline in inpatient volumes, according to the report.
Sharon Regional was acquired by Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems earlier this year.
