Sanders releases medical report

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., was declared physically fit for the presidency by physicians despite suffering from a heart attack in October, The Wall Street Journal reports.

The candidate had two stents put in and took a two-week hiatus from campaigning after the heart attack, according to the report.

The medical report indicates Mr. Sanders recovered well and can exercise at levels above peers with similar diagnoses. He has also been treated for gout, high cholesterol, diverticulitis, hypothyroidism, laryngitis due to acid reflux, lumbar strain and skin lesions.

Several other contenders for the Democratic nomination, including Joe Biden, former vice president of the U.S., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., have also released medical records.
