Rome Memorial Hospital Cuts 10 Positions

Rome (N.Y.) Memorial Hospital has eliminated 10 positions from its workforce, according to an Observer-Dispatch report.

The hospital has been in financial trouble due to Medicare reimbursement cuts and low patient volume. The workforce reduction became necessary after other cost-cutting measures did not achieve the necessary savings, according to the report.

Rome Memorial Hospital cut 26 full-time equivalent positions through attrition, decreased hours and layoffs, according to the Observer-Dispatch. The eliminated positions were in both clinical and nonclinical departments.
