Oklahoma House Approves Hospital Provider Fee

The Oklahoma House of Representatives has approved legislation that would levy a 2 percent assessment on hospital's net patient revenues, which will be used to increase funds to the state's Medicaid program, according to a report by The Oklahoman.

Specialty and state-owned hospitals are exempted from the fee, which is expected to generate $115 million from the hospitals. This would then generate $210 million in federal matching funds for the Medicaid program.

The Oklahoma Hospital Association supports the bill.
