Oaklawn Hospital in Michigan to Trim 21 Jobs

Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Mich., plans to eliminate 21 positions, according to a Battle Creek Enquirer report.

Ten people will lose their jobs because of the workforce reduction; the remaining 11 affected positions are vacant. All of the 21 positions are "leadership positions," according to the report.

Oaklawn Hospital pointed to the federal sequester and lower Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements as contributing factors to the workforce reduction.
