Nurses at Kaiser Los Angeles Medical Center to Strike on Wednesday

More than 1,000 registered nurses at Kaiser Permanente's Kaiser Los Angeles Medical Center will hold a one-day strike this Wednesday, marking the first strike at a Kaiser facility in 17 years.

The nurses are striking over alleged refusal by the health system to bargain in good faith as well as failure to include language on staffing levels in nurse contracts, according to a news release by the National Union of Healthcare Workers.

A representative for the hospital previously said it has bargained in good faith and hopes to reach an agreement, according to a Sacramento Business Journal report.
