Approximately 1,600 nurses at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., have authorized a one-day strike in March to protest a lack of progress on contract negotiations between the nurses' union on the hospital, according to a Washington Post report.
The nurses, who are represented by National Nurses United, and the hospital have been at odds over wages and staffing levels in the nurses' contracts since last summer. Nurses at the hospital previously authorized a strike in November, but held off after an agreement was reached to resume negotiations.
A specific date for the March strike has not been announced.
