For the first time in over a decade, Medicaid enrollment declined in 2018, and state Medicaid directors are expecting only minimal increases for 2019, according to a survey from the Kaiser Family Foundation.
In Kaiser's 18th annual survey of 50 state Medicaid directors, investigators found an 0.6 percent decline in Medicaid enrollment in 2018. It was the first time enrollment declined since tan 0.5 percent dip in 2007.
Enrollment is expected to grow only 0.9 percent next year.
