Despite the fact that his hospital will likely lose $28 million over the next 10 years, David Keith, CEO of McAlester (Okla.) Regional Health Center is vowing that no employees will be laid off, according to a McAlester News report.
"There will be no slash and burn tactics at our hospital," Mr. Keith said, according to the report. "There will be no layoffs." He does plan to cut labor and supply costs by $4 million through restructuring the organization, however.
The hospital's losses are an expected result of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and the federal sequester.
