The American College of Emergency Physicians' longtime director Dean Wilkerson is retiring July 31, 2020, the organization said Sept. 3.
His retirement will close out a more than 15-year tenure with the association. ACEP represents 40,000 emergency room physicians.
Under Mr. Wilkerson's leadership, ACEP's membership, legislative and regulatory advocacy, communications, clinical resources, budget, and more have seen growth.
A search committee has been appointed and the organization will begin conducting a nationwide search for Mr. Wilkerson's successor.
