A lawsuit authorized by the North Sonoma County (Calif.) Healthcare District seeks to block development of an 82-bed hospital in Santa Rosa, Calif., by Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health, according to a North Bay Business Journal report.
The suit — which was filed by the healthcare district, Palm Drive Hospital in Sebastopol, Calif., the California Nurses Association and the Transportation Solutions Defense and Education Fund — against Sonoma County and its board claims the environmental impact report approved by Sonoma County is "flawed" and violated state environmental regulations, according to the report. The suit names several Sutter Health facilities as "parties of interest."
The suit alleges the hospital would have a negative impact on the environment of its surrounding area. Sutter has said it would work with the community to alleviate any negative environmental impact, according to the report.
No court date has yet been set for the case.
