Judge Dismisses Lawsuit by Massachusetts Hospitals Over Medicaid Payments

A Superior Court judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by seven hospitals in Massachusetts, including Boston Medical Center, which argued the state illegally cut their Medicaid payments, according to a Bloomberg report.

Medicaid payments dropped after the passing of the state's 2006 healthcare law.

The judge ruled that no state or federal law gives the court the authority to review rates set by the health and human services secretary.
