Jewish Hospital in Kentucky Announces 155 Job Cuts

Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky., has eliminated 155 jobs, with one-third of the job cuts affecting vacant positions, according to a Courier-Journal report.

Hospital officials said the job cuts were in response to "decreased healthcare utilization and market trends," and only affect departments that were overstaffed in light of the lower utilization of the department's services. Which departments were affected was not mentioned in the report.

Employees who were not moved to a similar position received a severance package.
