Angela Ramirez was named HHS' deputy chief of staff, the agency announced Jan. 14.
A former special assistant to President Joe Biden and House legislative affairs liaison, Ms. Ramirez takes over the role from outgoing deputy chief of staff Anne Reid.
"[Angela] is a smart, savvy, steadfast strategist whose values and experience flawlessly align with HHS' mission," said HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra. "She will be an asset to our team as we continue to tackle COVID-19, expand access to healthcare, strengthen behavioral health and implement forward-leaning policies."
