HHS extends deadline for innovation, investment summit recommendations

HHS extended the application deadline for the Deputy Secretary's Innovation and Investment Summit, a yearlong collaboration between agency personnel and private sector leaders, by more than a week.

HHS Deputy Secretary Eric Hargan unveiled the summit on Sept. 19 and set an initial deadline of Oct. 3 to submit recommendations for participants. The agency has since pushed the deadline to Oct. 12 after receiving multiple requests for additional information on the summit, according to HHS.

As part of the summit, selected healthcare innovators and investors will participate in quarterly meetings to discuss emerging opportunities within the healthcare space, emphasizing ways the government can facilitate more investment and accelerate innovation throughout the industry.

The agency will consider criteria including field of expertise, executive or other organizational leadership experience, private equity experience, and lending experience within the healthcare sector when selecting participants.
