Roughly seven full-time nursing positions will be eliminated at HealthAlliance Hospital locations in Fitchburg, Mass., and Leominster, Mass., according to a Telegram & Gazette report.
The Burbank Urgent Care Center in Fitchburg will shed five of the positions, in part due to lower patient volumes, according to the report. HealthAlliance's Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center in Leominster will lose one-and-a-half nursing positions in the medical oncology and radiation oncology units.
HealthAlliance Hospital is a member of Worcester-based UMass Memorial Health Care, which cut 103 full-time equivalent positions earlier this month and shed 285 FTE positions from October 2013 through February this year.
