Money troubles are affecting women and young people the most, often negatively influencing their mental health, according to a new report from Bankrate.
More than 2,000 adults completed the survey conducted in April 2022.
It found that money issues negatively affect the mental health of 42 percent of American adults overall, yet almost half of women say that money has a negative effect on their mental health. Age also plays a role, with 48 percent of millennials saying money negatively impacts mental health but only 35 percent of baby boomers saying the same. The specific issues that affected people the most were not having enough money in savings and not being able to pay for everyday expenses.
