Hallmark Health System in Melrose, Mass., is cutting jobs through layoffs, early retirement packages and the elimination of vacant positions, according to a report on Wicked Local.
The workforce reduction is part of the system's attempt to become more efficient and thrive in spite of decreased revenues and reimbursement, according to the report. Hallmark officials say the cuts are in no way related to the affiliation deal with Boston-based Partners HealthCare that was signed in October.

The cuts will affect employees across the board, but there was no word on how many employees will be affected.
