Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital's operating and total income for the first nine months of fiscal year 2011 were down compared to the same period last year, according to a Tampa Bay Business Journal report.
The hospital's operating income for the nine months ending June 30 was $4.06 million, a significant drop from the $32.3 million reported in the same time period last year, according to the report. Similarly, the hospital's total income for the nine months ending June 30 was $24 million, compared to $40.5 million last year.
The hospital's expenses also increased since last year, with the biggest portion of the increase resulting from compensation, supplies and purchased services, according to the report.
