Miami-based Jackson Health System expects to receive up to $50 million in federal assistance for Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, according to a Miami Herald report.
The hospital should receive $25 million to $50 million that was believed lost last week when Congress rejected a stimulus package.
The potential funding came unexpectedly when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked lawmakers to pass a $26 billion bill that includes expanded payments for facilities that treat underserved populations.
