Administrators and trustees at Durham (N.C.) Regional Hospital are proposing a name change, in which "Duke" would replace "Durham," according to a News & Observer report.
Duke University Health System has managed Durham Regional, which is a county-owned hospital, since 1998, according to the report. Kerry Watson, CEO of the hospital, said the Durham Regional title does not help people recognize it is part of Duke.
A decision on the name change is expected Monday at a county commissioners' meeting.
