Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Ind., and Cincinnati-based TriHealth have finalized their previously announced affiliation agreement.
Here are five things to know about the affiliation.
1. Dearborn Community Hospital will remain independent.
2. As TriHealth moves forward in its partnership with Dearborn County Hospital, the organizations are developing a patient transfer process with the TriHealth hospitals, and they are working on the development of a multispecialty clinic in Lawrenceburg staffed by TriHealth subspecialists, according to Roger Howard, president and CEO of Dearborn County Hospital. Dearborn Community Hospital is also looking into the possibility of participating in the TriHealth provider network for purposes of contracting with health insurance plans.
3. Mr. Howard said in a news release overall the affiliation with TriHealth will provide Dearborn County Hospital patients with access to an expanded range of specialty and subspecialty care in Southeastern Indiana.
4. Additionally, officials said in a statement the affiliation will allow Dearborn County Hospital to enhance its level of care as well as its scope of services, resulting in the hospital being able to effectively treat more complex patients.
5. The affiliation did not involve any exchange of money or assets.
