Community Concerned Hospital in Brooklyn May Be On Verge of Closure

Community members are concerned that Brookdale University Hospital, a 530-bed non-profit hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., may be on the verge of closing, according to a New York Daily News report.

In September, BUH laid off 114 workers, including clerical workers, rehab aides and radiology and oncology technicians. It was the hospitals second round of staff cuts in 18 months.

Brookdale officials denied the hospital was at risk of shutting down and insisted there are no more planned service or personnel cuts.
