Adam Boehler, HHS deputy administrator and director of CMS' Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, has been nominated to lead the International Development Finance Corp. and is leaving HHS, according to Bloomberg Law.
Three things to know:
1. Mr. Boehler has been involved with creating many health policy initiatives, including primary care payment models designed to incentivize the transition to value-based care, according to the report.
2. Mr. Boehler is leaving HHS after President Donald Trump nominated him to lead the International Development Finance Corp., which was formed in 2018 through the combination of the Overseas Private Investment Corp. and the U.S. Agency for International Development's Development Credit Authority.
3. In an email to staff that CMS released, CMS Administrator Seema Verma said Mr. Boehler's "upcoming nomination is a strong testament to the incredible job he has done leading CMMI."
