Actor Joe Manganiello — famous for his roles in "Magic Mike," "True Blood," and the upcoming Batman movie — has joined the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation board of trustees, according to a report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
"There's a lot of excitement," said Greg Barrett, the foundation president, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "Not because he's a star. We have a lot of Pittsburghers on this board that have done well. We wanted him because of the heart he brings to it."
Mr. Manganiello has demonstrated a passion and commitment to the organization through his leadership during the foundation's 125th anniversary gala, of which he was named honorary co-chair, according to the report.
Mr. Manganiello will also assist with fundraising, according to the report.
