Christopher T. Meyer, DO, is CEO and chairman of the board of governors at Gallipolis, Ohio-based Holzer Health System. He stepped into the role Jan. 1, 2015.
Dr. Meyer has been part of the Holzer System since 2001, which boasts 12 locations in southeast Ohio and West Virginia and more than 150 physicians. He first joined Holzer as medical site director of both Athens and Jackson, Ohio-based Holzer facilities. Dr. Meyer served as the system's CMO before stepping into his current role.
Dr. Meyer has led a couple major projects in his time at Holzer, including the development of a new multispecialty clinic in Athens and the launch of the Holzer Graduate Medical Education and Residency Programs.
Dr. Meyer earned his degree from Des Moines (Iowa) University College of Medicine and completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine before opening his own practice in Athens.
Dr. Meyer has also served as chairman of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Core System and associate dean of OUCOM. He previously held leadership roles at Saginaw (Mich.) Osteopathic Hospital and Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc, Mich.
