Catholic Healthcare West, headquartered in San Francisco, has laid off 30 employees from three hospitals in California, according to a KSBY report.
The layoffs affected those in support roles or management positions at Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria, Arroyo Grande (Calif.) Community Hospital and French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo.
CHW officials stated the staffing changes were necessary in light of changing reimbursements from Medicare and Medi-Cal, according to the report. Affected employees will receive career counseling and severance packages.
