Brownsville (Pa.) Tri-County Hospital, a now shuttered physician-owned hospital, will be auctioned off in an upcoming bankruptcy court auction in Pittsburgh, according to a Herald-Standard report.
The hospital was open in 2005 by a group of physicians but closed after one year due to financial difficulties. A non-profit board re-opened the hospital in 2008, but it closed again in 2009 for financial troubles, according to the report.
The auction will help to satisfy the $1.25 million owed by the hospital on a defaulted loan, according to the report.
