Anne Arundel Medical Center in Maryland to Add 30 Beds, 140 Jobs

Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md., plans to add 140 jobs and increase its capacity by 30 beds in 2013, according to a Capital Gazette report.

Citing increased patient demand, the hospital is requesting 30 more beds through Maryland's certificate of need program. It hopes to receive approval by next month, according to the report. Anne Arundel recently added 30 licensed beds in August.

To match the potential increase in bed capacity, the hospital plans to add 140 jobs during its fiscal year, which ends in June. Positions to be added include nurses, support personnel and physician assistants.
