Approximately 4,000 nurses represented by the California Nurses Association plan to strike tomorrow unless the union reaches an agreement with their employer, Sutter Health, according to an ABC News report.
Nurses from nine Sutter hospitals plan to begin their strike at 7 a.m. tomorrow. Sutter's three Alta Bates campuses, two Eden Medical Center campuses, Sutter Delta, Sutter Solano and Mills-Peninsula will be affected.
The nurses and Sutter Health officials have been unable to come to an agreement on numerous issues, including benefits, workplace safety standards and more, according to the union. The Sutter Health nurses will be joined by nearly 2,000 other registered nurses at Long Beach (Calif.) Memorial Medical Center, who are protesting cuts in nurses' health coverage and patient care concerns.
