A recent report in The Wall Street Journal touts the benefits of a super-early start for more than just the CEOs, farmers and currency traders of the world.
Waking up while most the world is sound asleep can give productivity a big step up in the following ways, according to the report.
1. A 4 a.m. alarm allows plenty of time to jumpstart the day. Some early risers use the time to get a head start on tasks they want to have crossed off the list, like answering emails. Getting these tasks out of the way helps early risers feel ahead of the game and can reduce anxiety.
2. You can take some "me time." Because everyone is asleep, a 4 a.m. wakeup allows early risers some uninterrupted alone time. Many choose to go to the gym, pray or take some time to do the things that energize them personally.
3. Other distractions are temporarily silenced. In addition to alone time, many of the other technology related distractions — such as social media and email — have come to a brief halt. It can feel like time has stopped and allow early risers to catch up sans digital distractions.
