Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood, Ariz., announced the hospital and the Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare-Sedona have affiliated with The University of Arizona Cancer Center based in Tucson.
The affiliation is designed to expand treatment options for cancer patients. CCNAH-Sedona, which is part of VVMC, will have access to research trials and expertise from UACC. UACC staff will also work with CCNAH staff and local physicians to develop multidisciplinary cancer treatment plans based on best practices.
In addition, the affiliation will help VVMC and CCNAH-Sedona establish new programs and services, such as partial breast irradiation, and expand existing programs, such as cancer screening and early detection and prevention programs.
