Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, N.Y., has begun constructing a $74 million cancer center, according to a Post-Standard report.
The 90,000-square-foot Upstate Cancer Center (rendering pictured right) will offer a range of outpatient cancer services in one location. The center will house 27 private infusion areas; a family resource center; multidisciplinary practice locations; private space for genetic, financial and other counseling services; and three linear accelerators, with room for a fourth, according to the report. The facility will also include clinical laboratories and room for further expansion.
The building will connect to the hospital on two floors.
The hospital plans to complete the project in late 2013.
