University of Michigan Health System to Name Heart Center in Honor of Donors

University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor announced that its cardiovascular center will be named in honor of the late Samuel and Jean Frankel to recognize their generous support of the center.

A $25 million gift from the Samuel and Jean Frankel Foundation to the cardiovascular center was announced anonymously when the center first opened in 2007, with the donor just now being recognized publicly. The gift had offered immediate support for the center's innovative clinical approach.

The family also recently committed another gift of $25 million to the center.
