University of Louisville, Norton Healthcare Argue Over Kosair Children's Partnership

The University of Louisville (Ky.) and Louisville-based Norton Healthcare are disagreeing over their partnership involving Kosair Children's in Louisville, according to a report from local WFPL news.

The two organizations entered in to an agreement to jointly operate Kosair Children's Hospital last week.

University of Louisville leadership says that the lease agreement for the land on which Kosair Children's sits states that the land "shall be used for the benefit of the University of Louisville," a statement with which Norton Healthcare disagrees, according to the report. Norton Healthcare currently operates Kosair Children's, though the hospital is the pediatric teaching center for the University of Louisville.

There is no word yet on how the two providers plan on resolving the dispute.
