South Florida Baptist to Construct Operating Rooms as Part of Ongoing Specialty Expansion Plan

Among the newest updates to Plant City-based South Florida Baptist Hospital will be a $5.5 million pair of operating rooms, according to a report from The Ledger.

The 147-bed hospital added a $4.5 million heart and vascular unit in 2011 and completed a $3.5 million surgical unit renovation in April. The operating rooms will be the third major project for SFBH and will be double the size of the current operating rooms.

These projects are part of a $13.5 million overhaul to improve patient care for South Florida Baptist, which has also completed some smaller projects this year, including the construction of an approximately $1.5 million breast center, an emergency department enlargement and a 120-space parking lot addition.
