Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., announced the opening of the first fully-integrated neurosurgical center of its kind in the United States.
The Unity System will treat brain tumors and other neurological disorders and is unique for its highly specialized and integrated care. The center features a multidisciplinary Brain Tumor Group in which neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and other clinicians collaborate to deliver coordinated care.
The facility houses radiosurgery equipment and a hybrid neurosurgical operating room that includes surgical planning and navigation and intraoperative MRI.
