Piedmont Healthcare in Georgia to Create Nation's First Heart Valve Reference Center

Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare announced its Piedmont Heart Institute will create the nation's first heart valve reference center using a recent $20 million grant from the Marcus Foundation.

The Marcus Heart Valve Center, which will be located at Piedmont Hospital, will provide coordinated, patient-focused clinical care as well as training and research. The Piedmont Heart Institute is currently developing an academic relationship with a valve expert and teaching center to create an educational program at the center. The names of the expert and teaching center were not disclosed.
