Memorial Hospital of Union County in Marysville, Ohio, is developing closer clinical and financial ties with Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, according to a Memorial Hospital news release.
Under the partnership, Ohio State will purchase $2 million in equipment and move its Marysville-based cardiologists to Memorial Hospital to support the hospital's $11.4 million surgical and outpatient facility, projected to open in Dec. 2012. The 23,000-square-foot expansion will replace operating rooms, expand lobby and staff break space, add private preoperative and recovery rooms and relocate digestive diagnostic procedures.
Memorial Hospital's cardiac services have already been co-branded with OSU for the past three years. The relationship with OSU Medical Center is designed to allow Memorial Hospital to remain independent.
