Cincinnati-based TriHealth has acquired Cardiology Associates of Cincinnati as part of its efforts to integrate cardiology care through the creation of the TriHealth Heart Institute, according to a TriHealth news release.
The health system, which includes Bethesda North and Good Samaritan hospitals in Cincinnati, will employ the cardiology group's 13 physicians, who will continue to see patients at the group's eight current locations.
TriHealth Heart Institute is one of two specialty institutes announced by TriHealth in mid-May. TriHealth Cancer Institute also was established.
"This innovative collaboration between TriHealth and Cardiology Associates of Cincinnati will help to optimize integration of hospitals, physicians and community resources," said John Prout, TriHealth president and CEO. "This collaboration will positively impact the quality of patient-centered heart care and ultimately the heart-health status of our community at large."
