Niswonger Children's Hospital in Johnson City, Tenn., announced a new affiliation with Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center to give patients of Niswonger access to specialized services.
The affiliation will also allow patients to receive care closer to their homes. According to the release, Cincinnati Children's will provide the following services to Niswonger:
• Create and manage an on-site hospitalist program in collaboration with faculty from East Tennessee State University's James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, which will focus on quality improvement, standardization of best practices, patient safety and driving down costs.
• Electronic interpretation of electroencephalograms by pediatric neurophysiologists to diagnose epilepsy and other neurological disorders.
