The University of California San Diego Moores Cancer Center will be the beneficiary of a $1 million dollar gift from philanthropists Joan and Irwin Jacobs, according to a WorldNow report.
The donation will go to the recently established Center for Personalized Cancer Therapy within the UCSD cancer center, which Mr. Jacobs chose to support after learning of the novel work in personalized medicine to which the center is devoted.
Mr. Jacobs is a founding UCSD faculty member.
