Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health announced the opening of the clinical building of its new IU Health Neuroscience Center.
The 270,000-square-foot clinical outpatient and imaging facility brings together multiple neuroscience specialties and subspecialties in one location. Specialties at the center include neurology; neurosurgery; clinical and research imaging; neuro-oncology; psychiatry; neuro-psychology; ear, nose and throat; neurophysiology; neuro-ophthalmology, physical medicine and rehabilitation.
The center, also called Goodman Hall, aims to foster collaboration among neuroscience specialists, researchers and educators at IU Health and Indiana University School of Medicine, according to the release.
The clinical building's opening marks the end of the first phase of the two-phase neuroscience project. The second phase includes the Indiana University Neurosciences Research Building, which is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in 2014, according to the release. The clinical building and research facility will constitute the IU Health Neuroscience Center.
