Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Neb., is developing a new fetal care center to deliver babies with congenital defects or other problems that may require procedures immediately after birth, according to an Omaha World-Herald report.
Children's Hospital & Medical Center will renovate leased space in Methodist Hospital, located across the street from Children's, to create separate operating rooms for the mother and the baby and a recovery room.
Children's Hospital & Medical Center contracted with Omaha-based Alegent Health, which will provide staff with delivery expertise from its Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, according to the report.
The center is expected to deliver roughly 10 to 12 babies a year beginning in November, according to the report.
