Memphis, Tenn.-based Baptist Memorial Health Care announced that it has broken ground on a pediatric emergency department at its Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women, also in Memphis.
In May 2012, Baptist began transitioning pediatric services from its flagship hospital, Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis, to Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women. The pediatric ED will complement the pediatric inpatient and outpatient surgery services already offered by the hospital.
The pediatric ED is estimated to cost $14.1 million and is expected to open in spring 2015, according to a report by The Daily News.
