A planned nursing strike at Wilkes-Barre (Pa.) General Hospital scheduled for yesterday was called off after the nurses' union reached a tentative agreement with the hospital, according to a Times-Tribune report.
The strike was called to protest "bad faith bargaining and refusal to negotiate fairly" on the part of the hospital's parent, Community Health Systems, according to the report.
The 450 nurses at the hospital are expected to vote on the agreement tomorrow.
