The $14.9 million expansion project for Wilkes Regional Medical Center in North Wilkesboro, N.C., will begin this week, according to a Journal Patriot news report.
The construction plans include expanding the hospital's emergency department and two operating suites. A 2,200-square-foot space will also be added to house the hospital's new heart center.
