New York's Sheehan Health Employees Won't Be Paid for One Month

Employees at Sheehan Health Network in Buffalo, N.Y., said their paychecks for the last pay cycle bounced and then were alerted that they would not be able to cash their next paycheck, according to a WBEN news report.

A memo from the hospital attributed low admission, inefficiencies in record completion and billings and delays in state reimbursements as principle reasons for the hospital's financial struggles, according to the news report.

According to another local WIVB news report, not even the hospital's CEO will be paid due to debt to vendors totaling more than $1 million.

The news reports did not include any details of how this will affect access to healthcare or future payments to hospital employees.
