Hospital Prices Up 2% Over Last 12 Months

Wholesale hospital prices were up 2 percent in July, compared to a year ago, and up 0.4 percent since June, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Producer Price Index.

The BLS' producer price index measures average changes in selling prices received by producers for their products and services.

Physician office prices were up 1.3 percent from July 2010 to July 2011, while home health prices were up just 0.2 percent.
